Oct 08, 2013 · I'm currently back to stock netgear firmware because of wifi performance issues. Support for the R6400v2 is *really* new, and is actually a hybrid of R6400v1 and R7000P. One of the issues (where the unit is detected as R7000P instead of R6400v2) seemed to only be resolved in the last few weeks. When I can afford it I'll buy something else. Not Netgear. One thing I did learn is that the 21,500+ reviews are not necessarily for this router. There is a filter switch near the review stars that lets you see only confirmed purchasers of this specific router-and that is lots less. Turns out I'm not the Lone Ranger-others have had similar issues.
The Netgear R6400 has a web interface for configuration. Then press the Enter key on your keyboard. You should see a dialog box pop up asking your for your Netgear R6400 username and password.For weeks after switching to a new netgear router, i had major issues with connectively and slow wifi speeds (30-40mbps) even though my LAN connection is 1gbps and the router touted up to 1300mbps on 5ghz (achieved barely 200mbps).
